LGR, 2018

LGR, an exhibition proposal. In search of the forever advancing phenomenon of digital technologies and the online, and its relationship with feminism, paired with the complicated nature of femaleness and space in the physical world. Early on I became interested in the paradox of women consuming a space which does not have physical permanence, yet is infinite and ethereal.  This piece of academic writing focuses on key curatorial methods and strategies by using a variety of different critics and sources; significant reference was made to Beryl Graham and Sarah Cook’s - ‘Rethinking Curating, Art after New Media’ and Paul O’Neill’s- ‘The Culture of Curating and the Curating of Culture(s).’ As well as reading curatorial arguments within a feminist outlook, citing works from Katy Deepwell, Maura Reilly and Carol Duncan.
